Resolution run: 2nd January, Peacehaven

The organisers of the Peacehaven #parkrun are organising a resolution run on 2nd January, the day after our New Year’s Day Run. They say, ‘we are holding a fun run on 2nd January to raise some funding to get the Park run off the ground . We’re hoping to be supported by Barclays Bank and we’ve reached the Finals of the Aviva Community funding competition so we’re very hopeful that the Park run  is going to happen .
Would your club consider supporting our new year Resolution run by helping steward the run? We need about a half a dozen people with experience of these events to help.
Alternatively your members may want to run themselves. Places on the run can be booked through Eventbrite

If you can help marshal, contact
Ian Kedge or Megan Comber at Sussex Community Development Association.

Mince Pie Ten Mile numbers are on their way

Last night a crack team of hand-picked Striders stuffed 500 envelopes with race numbers and a race information sheet for the Mince Pie Ten Mile, run this year at 11 a.m. on Sunday 4 December.

The race is full so there will be no entries on the day; we have a waiting list. To join the waiting list, please e-mail info@seafordstriders.org.uk. We cannot guarantee that we can find you a place.

If you would like to arrange a swap, please e-mail info@seafordstriders.org.uk authorising us to give your number to someone else. We will need the following information from the person receiving the number:

First Name
Surname
Email address
Date of Birth
Gender
Full address including postcode
Telephone number
Predicted Time (in minutes)
Name of running club (if applicable)
UKA Affiliation number (if applicable)

If you are unable to run but don’t have anyone to swap with,  someone from the waiting list  may be able to use your place. Let us know and you may be able to come to an arrangement with them to reimburse you.

Support the new Peacehaven #parkrun

We’ve been asked by the proposed Peacehaven parkrun to encourage members to register to vote for them to receive support from the Aviva Community Fund. They’re bidding for £3,000 for start-up costs for a parkrun to take place in the Big Park in Peacehaven. Once you’ve registered with the site, you then have ten votes to cast, for the parkrun (or you can split your votes between the parkrun and other projects). Parkrun will part fund new events, but require organisers to match their £2500 contribution. Register and vote at
