Hello there,
I am moving to Seaford this summer and in researching activities and club have stumbled across your running club.
I am a keen fitness enthusiast and have recently started running so would be very interested in joining. Is there a membership cost? Do I need to sign up to anything beforehand?
Thanks,
Aaron
Hi Aaron
Membership is £16 per year, or £31 if you want to be affiliated to English Athletics (affiliation gives reduced fees for race entry among other things). You don’t need to sign up to any thing beforehand, just turn up on a Wednesday evening at 7pm in the Olympic lounge at the Seaford Wave Leisure centre and ask for Joe Plant or Martin Bulger. We would be delighted to see you.
regards
Tony Humphreys
I thought you would like to know you misspelled the word “Sargent”. Silly mistakes are a pet peeve of mine and they can ruin your website’s credibility. In the past I’ve used a tool like SpellingScan.com to keep mistakes off my website.
-Scott Matthews Sr
Hi Scott
I presume that you are referring to the CLIC Sargent cancer charity referred to in the Windsor half marathon post. In fact this spelling is correct as the charity is named after the late Sir Malcolm Sargent. If there is any other misspelling that I have missed then please let me know.

Hi
I have just moved to seaford and would like to attend tonight’s training session. What do I need to bring with me? I have been running for a while and am currently training for a marathon.
Hi Peter
Sorry for the delay in replying but I’m currently on holiday and have only just picked up your request for training session details.
Hope you went to the session last night and had a good run, If not then please turn up at the Downs either next Monday or Wednesday.
We are a friendly informal club and all you need is to turn up in running kit. If you are training for a marathon you will find a number of experienced runners who will help and advise.

Hi
My son is 12 and has expressed and interest in joining Striders. I have seen on the web site that you are back on the 7th, will this be at the Salts? Do we need to pay before he comes along or does he have a couple of weeks to see what he thinks of it?
Hi Claire
We would be delighted to see your son at Striders, but as the nights are drawing in we will not be using the Salts, but instead have made arrangements with Wave Leisure centre to use their football field for the juniors. We will still be doing some longer runs for the older Juniors, but start/finish at Wave leisure centre, not the Salts. I’m sure it is fine if we postpone the subs for a week or two to see if he enjoys it. Look forward to seeing him.

dear striders i enjoyed the mince pie run but i forgot to take my running shoes home they were left in hall by cake stall, i am hoping you found the poor stranded shoes /black Karrimor size 15. If possible please could you take them next week to esscc at Eastbourne and give them to Albert of Wadhurst runners or a tall lanky bloke with glasses and going bald, that,s me that is if you have found them.
Many thanks C Harris
Hi Colin – Yes they’re at Peacehaven Leisure centre lost property https://www.waveleisure.co.uk/peacehaven-leisure-centre

Hello,
Are your junior training on a Wednesday only or on a Monday too?
As my 11 year old would really like to join but he has football training on a Wednesday evening.
Hi Natalie
Unfortunately Juniors training is only on a Wednesday evening

Hi,
I am relocating to Seaford in a few weeks time and I am very interested in joining your club. I am hoping to use my running obsession to help me meet new friends and enjoy exploring a new area. My capabilities are approximately 30K a week, a mix of road and trail up to half marathon distance.
Please can you advise me on the joining process and costs ect?
Look forward to hearing from you,
Chris.
Hi Chris
Membership is simple – via the https://membermojo.co.uk/seafordstriders application
Costs are either £16 or £31 p.a. for adults depending if you want to be EA affiliated – definitely worth it if your intending to enter races
Meanwhile, it would be good if you came along to the Wednesday evening club meet at Seaford wave Leisure centre. We meet at 7 pm and if you came along and introduced yourself you’d be made very welcome
Regards
Tony H
