Cross Country

Seaford Striders compete in the East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League, during the winter months. A six race programme, with the last event being in spring the following year.

East Sussex Sunday Cross Country League

This is a great time to build up your stamina whilst enjoying the East Sussex countryside (fields, hills & woods). This is an opportunity for you to discard your watch and forget about times or PB’s, and get involved in some real head to head racing or a slightly different challenge.

East Sussex Cross Country League
Based on last year’s races (21/22) each event costs £7 if unaffiliated or £5 affiliated on the day for adults and free for juniors up to the age of 16. However, if you want to pre-register for all 6 races you can do so before the first race in October for a heavily reduced cost.

The other benefits of pre-registering are you keep the same race number, which you bring to all 6 events (or however many you want to run), therefore you don’t have to queue and enter on the day.

Why Join a Running Club?

There are many benefits to joining a running club here just a few reasons:

Meet like-minded people

Make lots of friends with people you already have running in common with and you can talk with people who understand your running interest/obsession! (blistered feet and all!)

Improve your running

You will always find someone who can run a little faster than you to be able to chase after. Organised sessions with interval training are designed to push you a little bit each week.

Support & Motivation

You will not only have your own personal bunch of cheerleaders but those days when you lack motivation become alot easier when there are others going out and getting it done and encouraging you. Just knowing other people will be there can make all the difference in lacing up your shoes and getting out that door!

"The obsession with running is really an obsession with the potential for more and more life."
