MINCE PIE CHEQUE PRESENTATION entered 04-Feb-2012

Also at the Awards Evening, a cheque for £1200 was presented to two representatives of the 2011 charity - The Seaford Down's Syndrome and Special Needs Support Group. Here is a lovely cheesey photo of Natalie McCreath presenting the cheque to Tom Glandfield and founder of the charity, Senya Smallwood.

By the way the cheque isn't a big one, it's just that all three of them are very, very tiny.

SEAFORD MARATHON entered 22-Aug-2011

Seaford marathonThe fourth Seaford Marathon was blessed by a fine, sunny, then cloudy, then sunny, then cloudy, well you get the idea, day. Ninety eight starters were set off by former stunt rider Eddie Kidd, for whom this year's event was raising funds, to roam the hills and valleys, and hills of the South Downs. First home in a time of 3:14 was Brighton & Hove runner, Mark Halls (pictured left), with Seaford Strider Natasha Swan first woman, in 3:59. The full results can be found on the Seaford marathon website. Click here. Many photos from the day can be found here.

The finish was also filmed by BBC South and second placed finisher, Chris Mallinson, was given his 15 seconds of fame on Sunday's teatime news. Nice smile Chris!

THUNDER RUN 2011 entered 01-Aug-2011

thunder runHearty congratulations to the very tired and sore, but victorious Striders team of Geoff Gray, Ryan Stewart, Gary Lee, Matt Eade and Adrian Campbell who competed in the 24 hour Thunder Run at the weekend and managed a magnificent 31 laps of the 10k course in 24:03:55 to take the trophy for 2nd place in the five man team event. This was an improvement of two places and one lap on last year's event and was a superb effort in devastatingly hot conditions, that left them bowed, but unbroken and jubilant.
